JUDY KINDHART
Sept. 2001
Our 16 year old daughter Judy has contacted Hepatitis B in Mexico. We were quite shocked to learn that it was type B since type B can be very serious and is only contracted by blood. She had a cist operated on at a clinic in Mexico involving several trips to the clinic with scraping of the wound and a number of shots. She also had dental work done by two different dentists and the doctors here tell us she could have contracted it in any one of these incidents. At first we were treating her in Mexico but since she wasn't progressing well we then took her to Texas and the nearest hospital in the USA. which is a 12 hour, 630 mile drive from where we live in central Mexico. After being released from the hospital there they told us it was type B not the more common type A and that she would need more rest and attention. We then brought her to SC and the area of our home church and immediate family to be there during the time I would be away in Peru preaching a National Pastors Conference with Missionary Austin Gardner.
We just took Judy to the doctor again Oct. 15 and the doctor said her blood work is very good. In fact good even for someone without hepatitis. We praise the Lord for this and that He is answering the many prayers that the saints are praying on her behalf. She will be going to a specialist in the next few days due to a pain she is having in her lower abdomen. We will update this information as soon as we know more.
NEW UPDATE NOVEMBER 2ND, 2001
We took Judy to a specialist yesterday and afterlooking at the latest results Judy is doing VERY well. We praise the Lord for His healing hand on our daughter. Due to some confusion in the first and these last results they want to do a more extensive study on her blood work but want to wait two weeks before doing them again. They also said due to the type of study they will be doing it will take almost two weeks to get all the results back so we are planning on going back to Mexico the last of November the Lord willing. The confusing part for the doctor is that the latest blood work showed no sign of hep B only hep A. After looking at the first results that did show hep B antibodies and then seeing that the last results were only looking for acute hep B they want to do this other study. We thought that this specialist was going to answer all our questions but now they say they really can't until they do this other blood work.
We want to thank each one for your prayers on Judy's behalf. We know that thousands of prayers have been prayed for her in this time of sickness. God has heard and answered. She is doing very well. She isn't sick now. She feels good and is eating well. The only symptoms she is having is fatigue and some pain in her lower side (liver) after she eats certain things. It seems there has been no liver damage at this time. It is also apparent that she for sure has had type A hepatitis, which isn't nearly as serious. It would be wonderful if the tests they did in Texas were wrong and she didn't have type B at all but those tests do show type B antibodies in the core testing. The doctor says that is proof of type B infection. We don't really understand all this. We just know the one that knows it all and trust Him to give her healing.
Again thank you all so very much and we will keep you updated on her progress. Your prayers and friendship mean much to us. If you have questions or would care to write please do.

Update January 16, 2002
Sorry to have taken so long to get this update on the web. Many of you have prayed earnestly for us and we thank you so very much. God does still hear and answer prayer! On our last visit to the specialist the doctor looked at the results of three different tests they had just done and literaly scratched her head. She said she didn't know how to reconcile the tests results they had sent her from Texas with what she was looking at. She said, "your daughter has no sign of hepititas B, only type A. As far as I can tell she hasn't had type B and you need to get her shots so she doesn't contract type B."
All we know to say is, "thank the Lord and thank you all that have prayed for her so much." The Lord has been so good to us and has brought us through one more huge valley and out the other side rejoicing and praising Him.
